Comments, opinions and an occasional ramble
90 minutes to my last paper
My last paper for the semester in 90 minutes. An open-book general biology paper. I profess never to have taken any biology classes in my entire life until this second last semester of my undergraduate years in NUS, when I decided to take 2 such modules (one on general biology and the other on microbiology).
Now I understand why the life sciences students are so pissed off at what Today termed the “life sciences conundrum”. Not only do they feel cheated of a career, the process of studying the life sciences is, hair-pulling. Well, at least it’s hair pulling from the perspective of a social science student. The scientific names and concepts are just mind-boggling. Ah well, at least I could use the Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory option (used to be called Pass/Fail option) on these two modules since it’s outside of my field of study.
Thankfully, the release of examination results this semester is not going to spoil my Christmas (okay, I’m assuming it will spoil rather than be a nice gift), although it isn’t exactly a good thing to get it at 7am post Christmas, especially for those who will be having hangovers. If you are interested to know when the results are coming out, read on.
On an unrelated note, I just noticed a heavy increase in spam activity on my site. I read somewhere that during the year end festive period, it is traditional for spam activity to increase. If anyone has their comment eaten up by my spam filter, please let me know.

Lucky you. I still have one more to go tomorrow (Thursday) morning.
I’m depressed as to the crazy schedule of my exams this semester. I’ve had people finishing their exams before I even started, and now the library is super empty.

All the best to you! You’re almost there!
Not only that…LSM department has a dubious honour of not releasing past exam papers…and lecturers openly admit to recycling past year papers and as such papers are not realeased at all. (I know it is a common fact that some NUS lecturers blatantly repeat questions, apparently it seems that the LSM department lecturers openly admit that they repeat final exam questions on a regular basis).
How to study for such kind of ‘mugging-based’ exams? You tell me.

BTW, why was ‘The Observer’ placed under suspension schedule? Was that an attempt by the UA to silence the paper?
I realised that LSM department is like that. They recalled all the question papers at the end of the exam, which is not typical practice in FASS. I kind of suspect they recycle the questions, although my lecturers did not admit that openly.
Anyway, the Observer has not been silenced. It’s just that in the hols, we are not operating full time. We operate on what we called a suspended schedule, meaning a suspension of regular production but we are on standby for breaking news.

Erm…what does LSM stand for?

LSM means life science module
cheers!

Hello! I just wish to give a huge thumbs up for the very good info you’re gotten proper here on this post. I will likely be coming back to your weblog for much more soon.

Interesting blog post. Things i would like to contribute is the fact that computer memory needs to be purchased when your computer cannot cope with all you do along with it. You can install two RAM boards of 1GB each, specifically, but not one of 1GB and one with 2GB. You ought to check the maker’s documentation for own PC to ensure what type of memory space is needed.
