Getting our own lovenest is no easy task
July 22nd 2007 by Wife in FeelingsGetting married is about starting a new life with your other half, and basking in the bliss of having the company of each other. Hence it’s natural, after having seen to some wedding preparations, for a couple to want their own space. However, having a tight budget in times of a hot property market is definitely not helpful in getting our own space. Having gone through a few HDB resale flat (that are priced within our budget) viewings, it has become clear that this is no mean feat at all.
We truly want to get our own home where we can spend time together and look forward to be back in at the end of a tedious day at work. But it seems to be so much tougher than I had ever imagined it to be. It’s either that sellers are asking for atrociously high prices (so that they can earn a slice of the crazy property pie), or the units just don’t feel comfortable enough for me to want to stay in them. When will we get a flat that’s reasonable for us in terms of price and feel? It’s frustrating. And we are not even demanding for a high-floor flat now (though that was originally one of the important factors for me in choosing a house, but the prices are just not affordable at the moment)! Will this house-hunting ever have a happy ending? ![]()
