Man and wife
August 6th 2007 by Husband in FeelingsIndeed, our wedding ceremony passed so quickly. The effort of a few months of planning, agonizing and the occasional squabble was gone in a matter of hours. However, the memory is going to last a lifetime. There were a couple of funny moments, such as my wife reaching for the wrong hand to put the ring on, her chair falling off the slightly raised platform where we signed the marriage certificate as well as the wedding bouquet that had to be thrown a second time to all the waiting single ladies because the first throw had too much height and too little distance.
Funny moments aside, I will remember this day because I’ve never seen my wife so beautiful before, and I’ve never seen her so happy before too. I’m glad she’s willing to entrust her happiness for the rest of her life to me, and I will remind myself from time to time that I’ve been given this privilege. After all, I don’t think I’m the most eligible guy out there but she’s still willing to stick with me!
I don’t have the pictures of the wedding to post as yet because some are still in our digital camera, and the rest with the official and unofficial (hi Zing, I’m talking about you) wedding photographers. I’m going to post the personal readings that we read to each other on the day of the marriage, which I understand from some guests that the delivery wasn’t very clear (I swear it’s the sound system, not me
)
Aaron’s reading:
These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on this wedding day, as we promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever.
These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as together we build our future.
These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other.
These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it and to hold you when fear or grief fills your mind.
These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow, and tears of joy.
And last of all, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness and support
And I can’t believe, that I’m your man,
And I get to kiss you, just because I can
Whatever comes our way
We’ll see it through
Cause you know that’s what our love can do
Peiying’s reading:
I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart)
I am never without it (anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)
I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet)
I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(Here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
And this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)

yeah it’s really a pity about the sound system. Or rather, the microphone. The solemnizer was so darn funny!
