The “shock” after the proposal…
June 3rd 2007 by Wife in OthersTo recap on how I felt during Aaron’s stunning proposal.. Though I think no amount of words can describe just how shocked I felt back then.. haha..
==================================================================
I unbelievably saw Aaron at the end of a long brick-layered foot path that was leading to the supposed dinner venue with Irene and some other friends. So unbelievable that at first, I thought it was someone else trying to pull off some kind of stunt or proposal (afterall, who else would be wearing a suit with a huge bouquet of flowers in hand?). I even suggested to Irene that we should probably walk another way/ take another route to the restaurant as otherwise we’d be in the way of that guy’s proposal (how hilarious it is come to think of it now)! BUT upon Irene’s gentle prompting of “Let’s just walk straight through la”, I decided that “Ok I guess”, and so walked straight on. Only when I walked slightly further (and closer to him) did I realise (stunningly) that it was Aaron standing there with a big bouquet of flowers in a black jacket (the weather was one of the hottest in a period of probably a few months mind you), and it was Steven (Aaron’s friend from CNM) holding on to a videocamera, standing at one side and filming the whole thing!
I burst into uncontrollable laughter right there and then and was in utter disbelief at the sudden realisation! I crouched in one corner laughing hard and long as I simply couldn’t help it! It was just SOOOO UNEXPECTED! First few thoughts and questions that ran through my mind were “oh my gosh, that guy is standing there for ME!”; “How is it possible that he got hold of Irene & my friends?” and “No wonder that guy with the video camera had the focus on us when we passed by him!”
Hahaha…everything after that was pretty much a blur…think I was still too stunned… I didn’t even feel extremely touched, instead, I felt really cheated for some reason.. haha.. What a HUGE CONSPIRACY!
Being either slightly retarded or slow to react, I only felt really touched the next day when I was alone on a bus to school, listening to “Flying without Wings”… Felt loved and felt touched by his thoughtfully crafted and sincere gestures in his proposal.. He did put in a lot of thought and careful planning into this one… It was his most successful surprise ever!

Darling & I after the proposal, sense the joy on our faces?
Special thanks to all who were there to witness and share in the joy of the moment. It is definitely a moment to remember…
