The Token of Love
June 5th 2007 by Wife in Others“So, where’s the diamond ring he proposed with?”, someone may ask me. Well, truth is, he didn’t propose with a ring, much less a diamond one. And no, it’s not that he’s a miser, or that he wasn’t sincere enough! It’s purely because I do not see the reason in getting a diamond for an insane amount of money (I could go on an enjoyable holiday with that money), when there is absolutely no use for it, or any resale value! In any case, diamonds have been precisely marketed such that buyers would not sell them anyway (’cos they are supposed to last forever). Not to mention I probably wouldn’t have much chance to wear it anyway, given the amount of time I spend in the lab (with gloves on). Plus, diamonds are essentially over-priced, and the amount of labor that goes into diamond mining can be pretty unreasonable. So, yeah, I don’t want a diamond ring!
Aaron, however, put in lots of effort in thinking up of something to propose to me with, and I must applaud and commend him for his creativity and sincerity for the token of love he presented me with - a key to his heart.

I joked that I’d lock his heart and throw away the key! Haha.. But I know that I will never be able to do that.. This I will forever remember, and keep it fondly and close to my heart…
